Social networks generate a multiplying effect due to their nature as channels for disseminating ideas and information. When hate messages or insults are disseminated through them, the use of these chan-nels projects the offence throughout the cyber world, increasing the victim’s injury as a result of the multiple potential recipients of the message. Through this paper, we will approach this situation, with special interest in the number of followers that the sender of the insult has on the social network, as an element for the assessment of the damage due to the expansion of the insult through these channels. All this in line with other possibilities offered by social networks, such as retweeting or hashtagging: instruments for sharing or indexing the message or keywords on the network and maximizing their dissemination, increasing the damage to the victim.</dim:field>
