Commonalities and discrepancies in English language teaching programs: an outlook on the european scenario Fernández Alonso, Alba Sigona, Concetta Maria Simarro Vázquez, María Lengua inglesa-Estudio y enseñanza Currículo educativo English language-Study and teaching Education-Curricula Nowadays, an increasing number of postgraduate studies in language and literature teaching are considering the possibility of moving abroad to teach their mother tongue or their first foreign language. For this purpose, the programs organized by governmental bodies in the field of culture and education serve as an incentive and economic stimulus. In fact, in the case of Spain, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training offered 815 places in the call for Spanish language assistants abroad for the academic year 2020-2021.
