La adolescencia es una etapa del desarrollo humano en la que suceden transformaciones
psicológicas de capital importancia para el individuo. La sexualidad a lo largo de este periodo da un
salto cualitativo. Los cambios puberales, que marcan el inicio de la adolescencia, traen consigo una
especificación del deseo sexual (Fernandes, 1991; López y Fuertes, 1994); generándose en los y las
adolescentes expectativas e intereses propiamente sexuales. Tanto chicos como chicas tendrán
curiosidad acerca de su sexualidad y la de los otros. Por ello, se servirán de las distintas fuentes de
información a su alcance para intentar resolver sus dudas y preguntas.
A fin de descubrir cuales son las principales fuentes de información que utilizan los
adolescentes a la hora de informarse sobre sexo, hemos realizado una investigación con una muestra de
247 adolescentes escolarizados en 2º de ESO y 3º de ESO. Hemos explorado además, la Educación
Sexual recibida, así como la importancia y trascendencia de la misma.
Adolescence is a stage in human development in which psychological transformations of capital
importance for the individual occur. All through this period, sexuality makes a qualitative step forward.
Puberal changes indicate the beginning of adolescence and bring along a specification of sexual desire.
(Fernandes, 1991; López y Fuertes, 1994); generating in the adolescents of both sexes strictly sexual
expectations and interests. Both girls and boys will be curious about their sexuality and that of others´.
Therefore, they will turn to all sources of information within their reach to try to solve their doubts and
questions.
With the aim of discovering the main sources of information used by teenagers when getting
information on sex, we have carried out a research on a sample of 247 adolescents schooled in the 2nd and 3rd year of E.S.O.. We have also explored the Sexual Education received, along with its importance
and transcendence.
