Actualmente nuestra ciudad se nos ofrece como un conglomerado
de edificaciones y espacios autónomos que, aceleradamente,
se van formalizando sobre realidades históricas diferentes a las del
antiguo núcleo, aquella “Caput Castellae” cuyos rasgos constituyen
su más preciado patrimonio. Estamos inmersos, pues, en unas dinámicas
de “crecimiento difuso” ligadas a presupuestos especulativos
que pretenden ignorar la identidad, y el valor, de cuanto destruyen en
el intento de obtener un máximo beneficio económico de tipo individual.
Desde tal situación, con el propósito de profundizar en la comprensión
de las decisiones que han precedido a la ciudad del presente, se
contempla el marco urbanístico y arquitectónico del que emergió. Es
decir, aquel Burgos que, recién concluidos los luctuosos años de la llamada
“guerra civil”, inició una nueva etapa tratando de transformar
la imagen heredada en pro de nuevas opciones.
Nowadays our city is presented as a conglomeration of
buildings and autonomous spaces that are quickly formalizing over
historical realities different from the old centre, that “Caput Caste -
llae” whose features are its greatest heritage. We’re deep into “vague
growth” dynamics linked to speculative budgets that hope to ignore
the identity and value of everything they destroy in an attempt to
obtain the maximum individual economic profit. From this perspective, with the purpose of going into detail about
understanding the decisions that came before the present city, we will
consider the architectural and urban context from which the city
emerged. This is, the Burgos that right after the tragic years of the
“Civil War”, began a new era trying to transform its inherited image
in favour of new options.
