Briviesca y su arquitectura en los siglos XVII y XVIII: los promotores y profesionales (II) Iglesias Rouco, Lena Saladina Zaparaín Yáñez, Mª José Arquitectura Urbanismo Barroco Profesionales cántabros y vascos Architecture Urbanism Baroque Cantabro and Basque professionals Arquitectura-Burgos Arte-Burgos Burgos-Historia Architecture-Burgos Art-Burgos Burgos-History El rico patrimonio que hoy disfrutamos representa un largo proceso histórico, “el fluir del tiempo”, en el que va reelaborándose cuanto nos es legado. Bajo esta comprensión, se analizan los cambios experimentados por la villa de Briviesca en los siglos XVII y XVIII de acuerdo a la óptica barroca. Tras haberse destacado, en una primera publicación (1), las transformaciones que afectan a su conjunto urbano y edificios religiosos, se aborda el estudio de la personalidad de quienes las hicieron posibles, es decir, los promotores y los profesionales implicados en su realización. En ese sentido, queda patente el importante papel desempeñado por quienes ocupaban posiciones privilegiadas dentro del conjunto social, es decir, determinadas familias ligadas a la nobleza o a la propia institución eclesiástica. Y a la vez, en conexión con los diferentes promotores, se halla la elección de profesionales para llevar a cabo las diferentes obras. Entre ellos, se encuentra una amplia nómina de maestros procedentes de Trasmiera y País Vasco los cuales serán sustituidos, ya en el tránsito a la contemporaneidad, por individuos con titulación académica. The valuable cultural heritage that we currently enjoy represents a long historical process, "the flowing of time", in which what has been bequeathed to us is being reelaborated. Under this comprehension, the transformations that the borough of Briviesca experienced in the XVIIIth century are being analysed according to the Baroque point of view. After being pointed out in a first publication the transformations that affect its urban set and religious buildings, it is approached the study of the personality of those who made them possible, that it is to say, the promoters and the professionals implicated in its fulfilment. In that sense, it is stated the important role played by those who held privileged positions in the social group, that is to say certain famillies bounded to nobility, or to the ecclesiastical institution itself. And at the same time, in connection with the different promoters it is located the choice of professionals to accomplish the different constructions.
