Desde su fundación existía en la Iglesia burgense conciencia
de la importancia de la conservación de su patrimonio documental
como garante de sus derechos y testimonio de su historia.
En este trabajo se estudia la localización, contenido y organización,
de los diferentes depósitos muebles que albergaba la sede a lo largo
de la Edad Media, desde el año 1188, momento del que data la primera
alusión al armarium, hasta finales del siglo XV. Por otra
parte, queremos ofrecer el perfil de aquellos miembros del cabildo en -
cargados de la conservación de los fondos mediante su custodia y
organización.
Since its foundation, the Burgos Cathedral council was
fully aware of the importance of the preservation of its documentary
heritage as the guarantor of their rights and as testimony of the
history of the Cathedral. In this paper we will study the location,
content and organization of the different record chests held in the
Cathedral See throughout the Middle Ages, from the year 1188,
when the first reference to the armarium is dated, until the late 15th
century. Moreover, we want to provide the profile of those Cathedral
council members in charge of conserving the funds by means of their
custody and organization.
