Este año de 2016 se cumplen novecientos años de la concesión
por parte de Alfonso I del fuero de Belorado. La carta incluía
los privilegios de otros fueros de francos, pero destacaba por ser la
primera población que recibió autonomía concejil, es decir la libertad
para nombrar a sus jueces y alcaldes, uno para el grupo franco
y el otro para los castellanos. La villa nueva supuso un cambio en
la organización territorial al sustituir el viejo alfoz de Cerezo, sometido
a la jurisdicción real, por una estructura administrativa fundamentada
en el poder de los concejos. Así es como el Camino de Santiago ejerció como agente de articulación del espacio ocupado por
las villas de Santo Domingo, Ibrillos, Belorado y Villafranca. El trabajo
analiza también los siglos X y XI, la forma especial de vivir de los
domines y senniores, la presencia de las aldeas, los mercados y la
implicación de los monasterios.
This year 2016 they are fulfilled nine hundred years of

judges and mayors, one for the group of Francs and other one for the Castilians. The “new village” supposed a change in the territorial
organization when the old alfoz of Cerezo, submitted to the royal jurisdiction, was substituted for an administrative structure based on
the power of the councils.This is how the Way to Santiago served as
agent joint of the space occupied by the villas of Santo Domingo,
Ibrillos, Belorado and Villafranca. The work also analyzes the Centuries X and XIth, the special way of living of lords, the presence of
villages, markets and the involvement of the monasteries.
