El autor estudia los conflictos que surgieron entre el monasterio benedictino de San Salvador de Oña y los vecinos de sus
lugares de señorío durante los siglos XV y XVI. Demuestra que en
un elevado número de estos lugares sus vecinos intentaron en algún
momento sustraerse al señorío del monasterio, haciéndose reconocer
su condición de lugares de realengo, y que sus reivindicaciones
fueron apoyadas con frecuencia por oficiales de la justicia de la Monarquía, aunque finalmente ésta siempre terminó ratificando el señorío
monástico. También da cuenta de los conflictos que se plantearon
por la resistencia de algunos vasallos a satisfacer al monasterio prestaciones
como la infurción, el yantar, la humazga o la martiniega.
The author studies the conflicts that arouse between
the Benedictine monastery of San Salvador of Oña and the inhabitants
of the villages under its lordship during the fifteenth and the
sixteenth centuries. He proves that in many of these villages their
inhabitants tried to shirk the monastic lordship, proclaiming that they were direct vassals of the king, and that quite often their claims
were supported by the officers of the Monarchy, although finally the
royal judges always ended up by ratifying the monastic lordship.
He also pays attention to the conflicts that arouse as a consequence
of the rejection of some vassals to pay to the monastery some rents
in particular, such as those called “infurción”, “yantar”, “humazga”
or “martiniega”.
