Jabato Dehesa, María Jesús Enrique I de Castilla Monasterio de Las Huelgas Burgos Cráneo Trepanación Enrique I of Castille Las Huelgas Monastery Skull Trepanation En el Panteón Real de Las Huelgas de Burgos se encuentra la sepultura del rey Enrique I, hijo del fundador del monasterio, Alfonso VIII y de Leonor de Plantagenet, fallecido con apenas trece años, cuya calavera fue objeto de estudio por el burgalés Víctor Escribano García, catedrático de Medicina de la Universidad de Granada. Ochocientos años después del accidentado deceso del llamado rey niño, se detalla el proceso de estudio del cráneo trepanado y se aportan detalles sobre la apertura del sepulcro realizada en 1948 a instancia del Dr. Escribano. In the royal cemetery of Las Huelgas Monastery is located the grave of the king Enrique I, son of the monastery’s founder Alfonso VIII and Leonor de Plantagenet, who was deceased at the age of barely fourteen, and whose skull was studied by the burgalese Víctor Escribano García, medicine professor at the University of Granada.
