XX Mercado de arte Copias Imitaciones Falsos Art market Copies Imitations Fake painting En el presente estudio se dan a conocer documentos personales del pintor Lorenzo Albarrán que aportan interesantes datos, aunque escasos, sobre la comercialización del arte. A partir de esa información hemos realizado una revisión de las obras de su colección conservadas en el Museo Municipal de Villadiego relacionadas con la actividad artística de las copias y las imitaciones que fue muy frecuente en aquella época. Así mismo nos ha permitido plantear una hipótesis sobre ese mercado modelado a partir de la doble necesidad de satisfacer una demanda social creciente y de solventar la propia economía de los artistas. Por supuesto ambos factores se rigen por la ley de la oferta y la demanda y están supeditados a un principio que ha permanecido estable a lo largo del tiempo: la obra original alcanza un precio mucho más elevado que las copias y las imitaciones. El estudio del mercado, sus reglas y preferencias aporta, además, una interesante información sobre la sociedad, su cultura y gustos estéticos, a principios de la pasada centuria. In the present study make personal documents public of the painter Lorenzo Albarrán that provide interesting data, though limited, on the commercialization of art. From this information we have carried out a review of the works in his collection preserved at the Museum Municipal de Villadiego related to the artistic activity of the copies and imitations which was very common at that time. It also allowed us to make a hypothesis about the modeling market from the dual need to meet a growing social demand and solve the artists own economy. Of course, both factors are governed by the law of supply and demand and are subject to a principle that has remained stable over time: the original work reaches a much higher that copies and imitations price.
