Los manuscritos que han llegado hasta nosotros procedentes
del scriptorium de Cardeña han sido catalogados y estudiados
desde el punto de vista paleográfico y codicológico, no así desde
la historia del arte.Se analiza en este trabajo la decoración e ilustración
de estos códices en los que hemos observado dos fases, una
arcaizante influenciada por la miniatura merovingia, característica
de los primeros decenios del siglo X, y otra de madurez, propia de
los años centrales de la centuria, inspirada en la ornamentación
franco-insular carolingia.
The extant manuscripts from the Cardeña scriptorium
have been catalogued and studied in terms of paleography and
codicology but non from the point of view of art history. This paper
analyses both their ornamentation and illustration noticing in
them two phases: an archaizing one influenced by the merovingian
illuminated manuscripts characteristic of the first decades of the
tenth century AD, and another more mature,proper of mid-century
and inspired in the carolingian and Frankish-insular decoration.
