El pintor Augusto Manuel de Quesada desarrolló su
labor artística en Sevilla en los años centrales del siglo XIX. Se dedicó
al retrato y a la pintura religiosa. Pintó en varias ocasiones la
imagen de la Virgen del Carmen, creando una tipología compositiva
que fue imitada por otros artistas. En el Convento de los Carmelitas
de Burgos se conserva una pintura con esta iconografía.
The painter Augusto Manuel de Quesada developed
his artistic work in Seville in the central years of the 19th century.
He devoted himself to portraiture and religious painting. He
painted the image of the “Virgen del Carmen” on several occasions,
creating a compositional typology that was imitated by other artists.
In the Convent of the Carmelites of Burgos a painting with
this iconography is preserved.
