<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="es">La consolidación de la presencia de educadores sociales en el contexto educativo proporcionaría una nueva manera de contemplar la educación asumiendo un conjunto de competencias especializadas. Uno de los objetivos de este trabajo es reforzar la importancia de la figura profesional del educador social en los centros educativos y analizar la experiencia de comunidades autónomas donde ya está regulada su inclusión. El segundo objetivo se centra en desarrollar metodológicamente un programa de intervención orientado al desarrollo de habilidades de mediación como estrategia de resolución de problemas. Como conclusión se destaca la necesidad de hacer visibles las funciones del educador social en los centros educativos y de demandar su inclusión, mediante el desarrollo de propuestas concretas de intervención como la que se presenta en este trabajo. La implantación de los programas de mediación escolar en los centros educativos ha demostrado resultados positivos en el tratamiento de la convivencia.</dim:field>
<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="en">The strengthening of the presence os social educators at the educative context would provide a new way of considering the education assuming a group of specialized abilities. One of the aims of this paper is to stress the importance of the professional figure of the social educator at educative centres and to analyse the experience of other regions where it is already included in their educative legislation. The second aim is focused on carrying out methodologically an implementation program oriented to the development of mediation skills as a strategy of problem solution. As a conclusion, it is pointed ot the need of making visible the functions of the social educator at educative centres and demanding its inclusion through the development of specific intervention proposal like the one presented in this paper. The implementation of school mediation programs at educative centres has shown positive results at school life.</dim:field>
