Los cambios operados en las ciudades en las últimas décadas han traído consigo una
profunda reorganización socioespacial a distintas escalas. Como resultado quedan marcadas
diferenciaciones, cuya máxima expresión está en los barrios favorecidos y desfavorecidos, dónde residen
los extremos de las jerarquías sociales. La comunicación se centra en el estudio de la diferenciación
socioresidencial en tres áreas urbanas del interior: Albacete, Burgos y Lleida. Se desarrolla un análisis
sobre 14 variables de tipo socioeconómico (renta, empleo y ocupación), sociodemográfico (nivel de
estudios y población nacida en el extranjero) y residencial (valor y superficie de la vivienda). Sobre estos
datos se aplica una técnica multivariante y de conglomerados (Kmedoids). Como resultado se obtienen
cuatro agrupaciones (clústeres), que permiten adscribir las diferentes secciones censales a tipologías con
características homogéneas. Tras la selección de clústeres, se procede a la caracterización de los barrios
extremos, que se ponen en relación con las formas y las tipologías de los diferentes espacios residenciales.
El análisis ilustra la existencia de áreas socioresidenciales, más o menos homogéneas en los extremos de
las jerarquías, y muestra la creciente complejidad de la estructura socioresidencial urbana que manifiesta
muestras de fragmentación.
The changes that have taken place in cities in recent decades have brought with them a
profound socio-spatial reorganization at different scales. As a result, there are marked differentiations,
whose maximum expression is in favored and disadvantaged neighborhoods, where the extremes of social
hierarchies reside. This paper focuses on the study of socio-residential differentiation in three inland urban
areas: Albacete, Burgos and Lleida. An analysis of 14 socioeconomic (income, employment and
occupation), socio-demographic (educational level and foreign-born population) and residential (value and
surface area of housing) variables is carried out. A multivariate and clustering technique (Kmedoids) is
applied to these data. As a result, four groupings (clusters) are obtained, which make it possible to ascribe
the different census sections to typologies with homogeneous characteristics. After the selection of clusters,
we proceed to the characterization of the extreme neighborhoods, which are put in relation to the forms and
typologies of the different residential spaces. The analysis illustrates the existence of more or less
homogeneous socioresidential areas at the extremes of the hierarchies and shows the growing complexity
of the urban socioresidential structure that shows signs of fragmentation.
