En el contexto actual de la educación, la integración de tecnologías
avanzadas como el eye tracking puede ser una poderosa herramienta
para analizar y entender los patrones de aprendizaje de cada uno de
los integrantes del estudiantado. Concretamente, es una tecnología que
permite el rastreo y el registro continuo de los movimientos oculares de los
individuos, proporcionando información detallada sobre cuánto tiempo,
dónde y cómo reciben los diferentes estímulos visuales durante el proceso
de aprendizaje.
Debido a la captura continua de estos movimientos, este tipo de
tecnologías generan grandes volúmenes de datos a una velocidad elevada,
lo que presenta un desafío significativo para cualquier profesional que
no posea conocimientos avanzados en el análisis de grandes cantidades
de datos. Para poder visualizar, procesar y analizar esa información, es
crucial utilizar herramientas de análisis datos y técnicas de Aprendizaje
Automático o Machine Learning que permitan extraer conclusiones y
tomar decisiones informadas. El análisis preciso de estos datos proporciona
una ventana única para comprender cómo el alumnado interactúa con el
material educativo y cómo su atención visual se distribuye a lo largo de
los contenidos durante proceso de aprendizaje.
Este Trabajo Fin de Grado se enfoca en la integración del eye tracking
con herramientas que miden el registro electromiográfico, con el objetivo es
desarrollar un software o cuaderno de programación que permita el análisis
de los datos facilitando el tratamiento de los mismos. Este desarrollo
servirá como plantilla que permitirá a los profesional, independientemente
de su nivel de conocimiento en análisis de datos, comprender mejor el
procesamiento de la información durante el proceso de aprendizaje. A
través del estudio de los patrones de seguimiento visual y los registros
electromiográficos, este recurso proporciona una herramienta accesible y
eficiente para extraer conclusiones y tomar decisiones informadas en el
ámbito educativo.
In the current context of education, the integration of advanced
technologies such as eye tracking can be a powerful tool for analysing and
understanding the learning patterns of individual students. Specifically,
it is a technology that allows the continuous tracking and recording of
individuals’ eye movements, providing detailed information on how long,
where and how they receive different visual stimuli during the learning
process.
Due to the continuous capture of these movements, this type of
technology generates large volumes of data at a high speed, which presents
a significant challenge for any professional who does not have advanced
knowledge in the analysis of large amounts of data. In order to visualise,
process and analyse this information, it is crucial to use data analysis tools
and Machine Learning techniques to draw conclusions and make informed
decisions. Accurate analysis of this data provides a unique window to
understand how students interact with educational material and how
their visual attention is distributed throughout the content during the
learning process.
This Final Degree Project focuses on the integration of the eye tracking
with tools that measure the electromyographic recording, with the aim of
developing a software or programming notebook that allows the analysis
of the data, facilitating their processing. This development will serve as a
template that will allow professionals, regardless of their level of knowledge
in data analysis, to better understand the processing of information during
the learning process. Through the study of visual tracking patterns and
electromyographic recordings, this resource provides an accessible and
efficient tool for drawing conclusions and making informed educational
decisions.
