El presente trabajo de investigación analiza la motivación y la vocación de
docentes de enseñanza secundaria obligatoria, bachillerato y formación
profesional de la ciudad de Burgos, la relación entre ambas y su asociación con
distintas variables sociodemográficas (sexo, edad, tipo de centro, situación
administrativa y experiencia laboral). Se ha llevado a cabo un estudio descriptivo
transversal y correlacional con una muestra no probabilística de 153 docentes
(Medad=46; DT= 9,795). Para la recogida de datos se utilizó un cuestionario ad
hoc, un Cuestionario para la Motivación en Docentes de Secundaria y otro
Cuestionario de Vocación en Docentes. Los resultados obtenidos indican que no
existen diferencias significativas en la motivación de los docentes en cuanto al
sexo y a la edad, salvo en la dimensión de pertenencia en la que las mujeres y los
docentes de edades entre los 39- 51 años obtuvieron mayores puntuaciones así
como en el sumatorio total de la motivación para las mujeres. No se observaron
diferencias significativas de la vocación en ninguna de las variables
sociodemográficas estudiadas, ni la existencia de correlación entre la motivación y
la vocación. De forma general, el estudio ha revelado que no es necesario tener
vocación específica para ser un buen profesor y estar motivado sino que son
muchos otros factores los que enriquecen la labor diaria y son fundamentales
para mantener la motivación a lo largo del tiempo.
The present research work analyzes the motivation and vocation of teachers of
compulsory secondary education, baccalaureate and vocational training in the city
of Burgos, the relationship between both and their association with different
sociodemographic variables (sex, age, type of center, administrative situation and
work experience). A descriptive cross-sectional and correlational study has been
carried out with a non-probabilistic sample of 153 teachers (Mage=46; SD= 9.795).
To collect data, an ad hoc questionnaire was used, a questionnaire for motivation
in secondary school teachers and another questionnaire for vocation in teachers. The results obtained indicate that there are no significant differences in the
motivation of teachers in terms of sex and age, except in the dimension of
belonging in which women and teachers aged between 39-51 years obtained
higher scores as well as in the total sum of motivation for women. No significant
differences in vocation were observed in any of the sociodemographic variables
studied, nor the existence of a correlation between motivation and vocation. In
general, the study has revealed that it is not necessary to have a specific vocation
to be a good teacher and be motivated, but rather that there are many other
factors that enrich daily work and are essential for maintaining motivation over
time.
