Dataset language Spanish 2. Abstract This dataset contains a complete set of standardized verbal stimuli developed for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) studies investigating auditory language processing. The dataset includes narrative fragments of approximately 20 seconds in duration together with their corresponding audio recordings. The texts were created by Manuela del Caño Espinel from the traditional German legend El flautista de Hamelin, adapting the original narrative to obtain linguistically coherent stimuli with homogeneous duration, natural prosody and controlled lexical complexity. The narrated audio files constitute the experimental stimuli presented during fMRI acquisition, whereas the written document provides the transcription of all stimuli used during the experiment. The materials were developed for research involving children aged 7 to 17 years with neurological disorders and were designed to facilitate standardized auditory presentation across participants. 3. METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION 1. Description of methods used for collection-generation of data The narrative stimuli were developed by adapting the traditional German legend El flautista de Hamelin into independent narrative fragments with an approximate duration of 20 seconds. The adaptation process sought to preserve narrative coherence while maintaining homogeneous duration, natural syntax and prosody, making the stimuli suitable for auditory presentation during fMRI paradigms. Each written fragment was subsequently recorded under standardized conditions to obtain high-quality auditory stimuli. The narrated audio files were used as the experimental stimuli presented to participants during Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging acquisition. The written and audio versions constitute complementary materials and should be used together to ensure reproducibility of the experimental protocol. FILE OVERVIEW 1.
