El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado analiza la transformación del sector de defensa en los mercados financieros internacionales entre 2021 y 2026. Partiendo de la teoría de las acciones del pecado (“sin stocks”), se investiga cómo los hitos geopolíticos (la invasión de Ucrania, el programa "Rearm Europe" y el conflicto en Irán) han alterado la percepción ética y financiera de esta industria. A través de un análisis cuantitativo comparado entre empresas y fondos ETF de Estados Unidos y Europa, el estudio demuestra que el sector ha transitado desde la exclusión por criterios de Inversión Socialmente Responsable (ISR) hacia una posición de activo refugio estratégico. Los resultados sugieren que la presión institucional y la necesidad de soberanía nacional han modificado las normas sociales de inversión, validando la defensa como un componente esencial, aunque con reticencias sociales.
This Thesis analyzes the transformation of the defense sector in international financial markets between 2021 and 2026. Using the theory of “sin stocks”, it investigates how geopolitical events (the invasion of Ukraine, the "Rearm Europe" program, and the conflict in Iran) have altered the ethical and financial perception of this industry. Through a comparative quantitative analysis of United States and European companies and ETFs, the study demonstrates that the sector has shifted from exclusion based on Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) criteria to a position as a strategic safe-haven asset. The results suggest that institutional pressure and the need for national sovereignty have modified social investment norms, validating defense as an essential component still with much social resistance.
