<dcterms:abstract>This Final Degree Project aims to highlight the importance of the playful approach in
teaching English vocabulary in the Early Childhood Education classroom. Firstly, the
theoretical framework addresses the foundations and benefits of the playful methodology,
how children acquire new words in a second language, a summary of the methodologies
for teaching English over time (focusing on the TPR method), the comparison between
playful and traditional approaches and, finally, the main playful strategies to teach English
vocabulary.
Next, the learning situation is developed. The proposal is presented and the objectives to
be achieved through the designed sessions and activities are set out. Through all the
games, the aim for students is to perceive English lessons as fun and motivating, thus
fostering a positive learning environment.</dcterms:abstract>
