Unas mil páginas de sus obras mayores se conservan actualmente en El Escorial, custodiadas en la regia biblioteca desde 1592 a petición de Felipe II. Al menos otras mil se hallan diseminadas por Europa y América, tras una azarosa travesía de más de cuatro siglos. Gran parte de las que integran sus obras mayores han sido reproducidas en ediciones facsímiles, publicadas sobre todo en Burgos. A large number of St Teresa's autograph manuscripts still exist today. Some thousand autograph pages of her major works are kept in the monastery of El Escorial , carefully conserved in the royal library since 1592 at the request of Philip II. At least another thousand are dispersed through Europe and America, after a hazardous voyage of more than four centuries.
