En el presente trabajo se pretende reconstruir fundamentalmente la historia de la ocupación francesa de la comarca con especial incidencia en los acontecimientos bélicos sucedidos en su territorio y la secuela de muertes, destrucciones, saqueos, incendios y requisas que el ejército invasor, de manera especial, pero también la guerrilla y los aliados, llevaron a cabo por nuestra geografía comarcal. During the Peninsular War, the western region of Burgos was the scene, not of big war actions, but of small battles, skirmishes and surprise attacks, a never-ending traffic of all kinds of troops, Spanish, French, English and guerrilla forces, which meant the spoliation, destruction and plunder of the whole area.
