Angulo dió sus primeros pasos en la carrera científica (1), las citas de&#xd;
obras flamencas en pinturas castellanas de finales del siglo XV y&#xd;
comienzos del siglo XVI han sido estudiadas a menudo. No es sorprendente,&#xd;
ya que estas citas presentan un innegable interés. Cuando&#xd;
el historiador del arte establece una relación entre una obra flamenca&#xd;
y una pintura castellana, apoyándose en analogías suficientemente&#xd;
concretas que le permiten excluir una casual convergencia de inspiración,&#xd;
entonces puede reconstruir un verdadero hecho histórico.&#xd;
El vínculo, una vez demostrado, posee el mismo valor probatorio que&#xd;
un documento de archivo y posibilita afirmar que un artista, activo&#xd;
en la Península Ibérica, tuvo como fuente de inspiración una pintura&#xd;
flamenca.</dim:field>
<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="en">Flemish pictures, especially those by Rogier Van der&#xd;
Weyden (1399-1464), played a key-role as models for Castilian pain -&#xd;
ters at the end of the 15th century. But these models had to be adap -&#xd;
ted to the local taste. In this article, Castilian interpretations of&#xd;
Rogier Van der Weyden's Durán Madonna (Madrid, Museo Nacional&#xd;
del Prado), attributed to the Master of the Luna's and his companions,&#xd;
have been systematically investigated. They reflect an aesthetic&#xd;
attitude aiming primarily at ornamental effects, which differs from&#xd;
Van der Weyden's sculptural realism, based on perspective. This&#xd;
trans formation of Flemish painting in Castilla had as a counterpart&#xd;
the transformation of some Castilian painters in true imitators of&#xd;
the northern masters The case of Diego de la Cruz can be considered&#xd;
as very illuminating from this point of vue. Having worked a long&#xd;
time as painter of Spanish retablos with gold ground, short before&#xd;
1495, at the end of his career, he realized a Flemish looking triptych&#xd;
for the cloister of the Burgos cathedral.</dim:field>
