En septiembre de 1781, fallecía en Burgos Alonso de Vivar, mercader de cacao y chocolate, soltero, de edad avanzada, 71
años, muy amigo de sus amigos, poseedor de una importante fortuna
y propietario de un magnífico edificio en la Plaza de Vega. Su muerte,
“ab intestato”, de manera repentina, abrió la caja de los truenos
entre quienes eran sus legítimos herederos, a título de “Pretendientes”, los cuales tuvieron que demostrar fehacientemente que eran
parientes biológicos del difunto. La cantidad a percibir bien merecía
ciertos desvelos.
In September 1781, Alonso de Vivar died in Burgos, he
was a merchant of cocoa and chocolate, single, aged, 71, a close
friend of their friends, owner of a considerable fortune and a magnificent
building in the Plaza de Vega. His sudden death, “ab intestato”,
opened the box of thunders among those who were his legitimate heirs, by way of “Pretenders”, which had to prove irrefutably
that they were biological relatives of the deceased. The amount to
be received well deserved some sleepless nights.
