Esta investigación examina la categorización del manuscrito
del Cantar de Mio Cid como libro de juglar y su instrumentalización
en actuaciones públicas. De los elementos que sugieren un
uso instrumental del Códice, se analizan detalladamente el colofón
del recitador tras el explicit de Per Abad y varias anotaciones de
diversa pluma y cronología situadas en la última plana (fol. 74 v),
que conforman el arranque de una versión castellana del diálogo de
Epicteto y el emperador Adriano, unos versos sueltos del Poema y
unas oraciones en latín. El análisis paleográfico y la documentación
aportada permiten obtener datos que muestran una relación directa
entre los citados fragmentos y algunos elementos de naturaleza
oral pertenecientes a la recitación pública de la epopeya. Su inclusión
en el Manuscrito propone un uso instrumental del mismo en espectáculos
públicos en un margen cronológico que abarca gran parte del
siglo XIV. Por último, se discute la hipótesis que defiende la existencia
de material poético liminal de la ejecución oral de las gestas anotado
en la página inicial ausente del Códice, proponiendo la presencia
de un poema introductorio que puede estar relacionado con el
origen del género romancístico.
This paper examines the categorization of the Manuscript of the Cantar de Mio Cid as book of jongleur and his instrumentation
in public representation. Of the elements that suggest an
instrumental use of the Codex, the colophon of the reciter after Per
Abad's explicit and several annotations of diverse pen and chronology placed in the last page (fol. 74 v.) are analyzed in detail. This
fragments shapes the take-off of a Spanish version of the Epitus or
dialog of Epicteto and the emperor Adriano, a few free verses of The
Cantar and a few prayers in Latin. Paleographic analysis and provi -
ded documentation allow to obtain information that show a direct
relationship between the mentioned fragments and some elements
of oral nature belonging to the public recitation of the epic. His inclusion
in the Poem text proposes an instrumental use of the Manuscript
in public spectacles in a chronological margin that in cludes great
part of the 14th century. Finally, the hypothesis that defends the
existence of liminal poetic material of the epics performance annotated
in the initial absent page of the Codex is discussed, proposing
the presence of an introductory poem that can be related to the origin
of the ballad genre.
