La Catedral de Burgos atesora en un su colección de
tapices un ejemplar con el asunto de Hércules, Deyanira y el centauro
Neso. Esta pieza tejida en Enghien en el tercer cuarto del siglo
XVI muestra la destacada difusión de la iconografía de Hércules en
el arte, relatando los más relevantes episodios de su biografía. La
presencia de este tapiz en Burgos refleja la importancia alcanzada
por la ciudad belga de Enghien en la fabricación de tapices, con personalidad
propia en sus reconocidos talleres, como se observa en el
diseño de las cenefas vegetales del ejemplar burgalés.

This piece woven in Enghien in the third quarter of the sixteenth
century shows the remarkable spread of the iconography of Hercules
in the art, relating the most important episodes of his biography.
The presence of this tapestry in Burgos shows the importance achie -
ved by the Belgian city of Enghien in the manufacture of tapestries,
with their own personality in recognized workshops, as seen in the
design of plant borders copy of Burgos.
