La ejecución de un parking subterráneo en las antiguas
huertas del Hospital de la Concepción emplazado en el barrio
de la Vega de la ciudad de Burgos motivó la excavación arqueológica
de un cementerio situado al exterior y anexo al histórico centro
sanitario-asistencial fundado en el siglo XVI. Este cementerio conocido
como “Malvarejo” fue utilizado desde la segunda mitad del
siglo XVII hasta el siglo XIX, período en el que se contextualizan numerosos enterramientos relacionados con los conflictos bélicos de
dicha centuria.
The building of an underground car park in the former
fields belonging to the Hospital de la Concepción, in the neighbourhood
of La Vega in the city of Burgos, has brought about the archeological dig of a cemetery situated in the outskirts and joined to the
historical health center founded in the sixteenth century. This cemetery
know as “Malvarejo” was in use from the second half of the seventeenth century till the nineteenth century and the numerous graves found in it provide a context for the war conflicts of those centuries.
