En este trabajo se sitúa, en el espacio geográfico de Belorado, la judería (la Call Nueva) y la morería (el barrio de los Moros).
Se hace referencia a la participación judía en la repoblación de Ávila
y a los informes literarios locales de la aljama hebrea. En el artículo
se analiza buena parte de la relación cristiana con los hebreos,
desde tiempos anteriores a la concesión del fuero hasta su expulsión.
Desde finales del siglo XIV el problema planteado por los
“cristianos nuevos” a sus más atroces perseguidores, los judíos, fue
encomendado a los oficios de los condes de Haro, señores de la villa.
This work places in the geographical space of the Jewry
of Belorado, the “Call Nueva”, and the Moorish quarter, the neighborhood
of the Moors. It refers to the Jewish participation in the
repopulation of Avila and to the literary references of the Hebrew
“aljama”. The article analyzes the Christian-Hebrews relations, from
previous times to the concession of the jurisdiction, up to his expulsion.
From ends of the 14th century, the Jews, were entrusted to the
offices of the counts of Haro, lords of the town, by the “new Christians”, that became the persectors of the jews.
