<dc:description>The Judas play, deeply ingrained in both Burgos and its
province tradition until the end of the XIX century, portrayed in the
Easter time the arrest of the Iscariot, his arrest and the final sentence,
whose ruling consisted on the burning of a rag doll representing the
traitor, with a greater or a lesser dramatic display. Lerma and Belorado competed in the performance, which ended in the ducal town
around the year 1899, resuming again in 1923. However, in Belorado,
there is evidence of its playing in 1920, thanks to two loose sheets
which informing about the programme of activities and the role cast
in the play, in a long poem written in a comical mood, which constitutes a brief picture confirming the performing of the Judas play in
the referred year and the inhabitants of Beloradowho took part on it.</dc:description>
