Este artículo recoge el léxico y las peculiaridades fonéticas
del castellano hablado en Oña (Burgos) con un doble objetivo:
dejar un testimonio de palabras y modos de vida rural que tienden
a desaparecer y proporcionar una comparación con otras hablas de
la zona del Alto Ebro, territorio donde nació el primitivo romance
castellano. Debido a la rica documentación medieval existente en
la zona, sobre todo en el Monasterio de San Salvador de Oña, este
estudio también permite cotejar la lengua actual con estadios anteriores
que están reflejados en los documentos medievales.
This study focuses on the vocabulary and the phonetic
peculiarities of the Castilian spoken in Oña (Burgos). In doing so,
we have two objectives: to record these words and with them the
rural way of life which are both in danger of becoming extinct; and
to enable comparison with other dialects of the Upper Ebro region,
the birthplace of early Castilian. Given the wealth of medieval documentation
that exists in this area, and above all in the monastery
of San Salvador de Oña, we also hope that the study facilitates the
comparison of modern speech with that reflected in the said medieval
texts.
