<dc:description>The central topic of this article is the debate around the homeless, their everyday life and the
multiple connections with space. The main objective was to analyze the role performed by spatiality
on this population’s life experience. There are indeed many ongoing discussions and analysis on
this phenomenon, although very few of them are strictly dedicated to such relations. One thereby
propagates the idea that this population does not organize accordingly to any spatial order being
therefore wandering or lost in the public spaces. In that sense the challenge in this research was
to understand if there was any link between the homeless population and the spatial dimension,
especially those regarding everyday practices. Methodologically the central approach in this research
was the organization of a detailed fieldwork that also turned out to be an effective tool in geographical
research, here conceived as a continuous process. Field trips took almost two years and we conducted
more than a hundred interviews with homeless population in public spaces. Through their own speech
emerged categories related to their daily life and activities that could be reassembled as spatiality or
a set of spatial logics related to mobility, place of stay and rhythms that fulfilled such practices. We
observed that even in front of a complex set of adversities this population does not act randomly.
On the contrary, it has a series of logics marked by practices and strategies that produces places,
territories, trajectories and daily spatial circuits. Finally, we have concluded that spatiality constitutes
itself a key-element to interpret such phenomenon and it needs to be embodied in the analysis
regarding this thematic since it has an essential significance in this population’s life organization.</dc:description>
