La custodia procesional es una de las manifestaciones más destacadas de la orfebrería española.
A través del análisis de las realizadas para las catedrales castellanoleonesas se traza un panorama
sobre las circunstancias en las que fueron realizadas, la valoración que han tenido a lo largo del
tiempo, mostrando como estos templos ricos responden a una magnificencia a la que los cabildos
catedralicios no escaparon.
The processional monstrance is one of the most outstanding manifestations of Spanish goldsmithing. Through the analysis of those made for the Castilian-Leonese cathedrals, an overview
is drawn of the circumstances in which they were made and the appreciation they have had over
time, showing how these “rich temples” respond to a magnificence to which the cathedral chapters they did not escape.
