<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="en">In this chapter I will analyze the strategies developed by transnational migrants in order to promote the learning of their mother tongue and culture among their children. I will approach this issue from the perspective of the reconversion of different forms of social and cultural capital; starting from the
incorporated form of cultural capital that migrants carry with them as habitus, such as the language(s) and culture(s) of origin, I will show how this form of cultural capital is effectively reconverted into other forms of cultural capital (objectified
and institutionalized) and how this reconversion is directly interrelated with the diversification and strengthening of social
networks, thus reconverting different forms of social capital
(bonding, bridging and linking). This analysis will also show
the centrality of women as being the architects of these social
networks and the organizers of the Bulgarian courses in the
migratory context of Burgos</dim:field>
