Las técnicas de eye tracking facilitan el registro de indicadores relacionados con evidencias
atencionales y de procesamiento de la información durante la resolución de tareas. El objetivo de
este estudio fue conocer si la forma de presentación de la tarea influye en los indicadores de
atención y de codificación de la información. Se trabajó con 8 profesores universitarios 3 de
Historia y 5 de Ingeniería agrupados en tres grupos. En el primer grupo se presentó la tarea de
forma tradicional en un formato pdf, en el segundo se utilizó un vídeo locutado en el que se aplicó
la técnica de Aprendizaje Autorregulado (SRL) con efectos de zoom y en el tercero se emplearon
estas mismas técnicas pero sin efecto zoom. Los resultados indican que en los grupos en los que se
utilizaron técnicas de SRL los participantes incrementaron la duración de la mirada y disminuyeron
el número de movimientos sacádicos. Estos resultados parecen mostrar que las tareas que se
presentan en vídeos en los que se aplica SRL potencian la focalización de la atención de los
aprendices, especialmente en la condición experimental sin efecto zoom. En síntesis, la tecnología
eye tracking se perfila como una importante herramienta para el conocimiento de cómo el aprendiz
procesa información. Este conocimiento previsiblemente ayudará a los docentes en la elaboración
de programas de aprendizaje personalizados. Lo cual, es un aval para el logro de aprendizajes
eficaces.
Eye-tracking techniques facilitate the recording of indicators related to attentional evidence and
information processing during task-related problem solving. The aims of this study are to establish
whether the way in which the task is presented will influence indicators of attention and
information encoding. We worked with 8 university professors, 3 History and 5 Engineering
professors, organized into three groups. In the first group, the task was presented in a traditional
way in a .pdf format, in the second group a video with voice-over was used in which Self-regulated
Learning (SRL) was applied with zoom effects, and in the third group those same techniques were
applied but without a zoom effect video. The results indicated that the participants increased the
duration of their gaze in the groups in which the SRL techniques were applied and decreased the
number of saccadic movements. These results appear to suggest that the tasks presented in the
videos in which SRL was applied enhanced the focus of the learners' attention, especially in the
experimental condition without zoom effect. In summary, eye-tracking technology is emerging as
an important tool for knowledge of how the learner processes information. This knowledge will
foreseeably help teachers in the elaboration of personalized learning programs, which endorses the
achievement of effective learning.
