La implementación de la educación STEM integrada junto a la robótica educativa
(RE) tanto en la Educación Primaria (EP) como en la Educación Secundaria
Obligatoria (ESO) se configuran como temas de máximo interés educativo, por lo
que resulta necesaria la investigación de sus postulados teóricos y prácticos. Se
muestra una revisión sistemática de las características que presentan las buenas
prácticas que implementan ambos enfoques educativos en España tanto en EP
como en ESO. Se describe el proceso de recopilación y se discute la consistencia
teórica y práctica de las características de las buenas prácticas a la luz de la
literatura científica mundial. Se obtiene de la etapa de EP la importancia de emplear
el aprendizaje cooperativo y colaborativo junto al aprendizaje basado en proyectos
(ABP), mediante el uso de robots construibles y programables como Lego
Mindstorms o fabricados con material de bajo coste. Además, se extrae una
implementación coherente de la educación STEM integrada, debiéndose mejorar la
inclusión educativa. Respecto a la etapa de ESO destaca el uso del aprendizaje
cooperativo y colaborativo junto con el ABP y la implementación robusta de la
educación STEM integrada, aconsejándose el uso de la indagación científica y del
proceso de diseño de ingeniería mediante el empleo de modelos integrados.
Destaca el uso coherente del kit Lego Mindstorms, incluyéndose como mejora el
uso de robots construidos con material de bajo coste. Adquiere vital relevancia el
desarrollo de habilidades de trabajo en equipo, pensamiento crítico y resolución de
problemas, favoreciéndose a través de la participación del alumnado en torneos de
RE. Por último, se deben mejorar aspectos como la igualdad de género y la
inclusión educativas. Se configuran como futuras líneas de investigación el estudio
de las buenas prácticas abordadas en Europa o el mundo a través de la educación
STEAM integrada y la RE.
The implementation of integrated STEM education together with educational
robotics (ER) in both Primary Education (PE) and Compulsory Secondary Education
(CSE) are topics of great educational interest, which is why it is necessary to
investigate their theoretical and practical postulates. A systematic review of the
characteristics of good practice in implementing both educational approaches in
Spain in both PE and CSE is presented. The compilation process is described and
the theoretical and practical coherence of the characteristics of good practice in the
light of the world scientific literature is discussed. The importance of using
cooperative and collaborative learning together with project-based learning (PBL),
using constructible and programmable robots such as Lego Mindstorms or made
with low-cost materials, is obtained from the PE stage. In addition, a coherent
implementation of integrated STEM education is also highlighted, and educational
inclusion needs to be improved. Regarding the CSE stage, the use of cooperative
and collaborative learning together with PBL and the robust implementation of
integrated STEM education stand out, advising the use of scientific enquiry and the
engineering design process using integrated models. The consistent use of the Lego
Mindstorms kit is emphasised, including as an enhancement the use of robots
constructed from low-cost materials. The development of teamwork, critical thinking
and problem-solving skills is of vital importance, and is encouraged through pupils'
participation in ER tournaments. Finally, aspects such as gender equality and
educational inclusion should be improved. Future lines of research include the study
of good practices addressed in Europe and the world through integrated STEAM
education and ER.
