Resumo
In this paper we present an analysis of a code family, Random Optical Codes (ROC) used in Optical CodeDivision Multiple-Access (OCDMA) systems. This family has been designed to perform in a Multipleaccess interference (MAI) environment as Generalized optical orthogonal codes (OOCs) done. However its extremely simple design provides them better features than traditionally used codes (OOCs) in some cases. ROC chooses codes randomly from all possible rearranges. Random selection of pulse positions out of the length code is easily implementable and parameters of system: length, weight and number of channels can be easily tailored. Not only presentation, but OCDMA system analysis and design based on ROC is dealt in the communication. We conclude that for some interesting cases as low code weight with high code length ROC and OOCs Generalized have comparable BER, even ROC presents a better performance.
