En los últimos 15 años se han desarrollado dos ciclos de investigación dirigidos a estudiar las comunidades
rurales/campesinas de un sector concreto de la Meseta Norte española. El primero se centró en su
origen e inicial despliegue durante la Prehistoria Reciente. El segundo en su devenir bajo los sistemas
estatales que se han sucedido desde la Edad del Hierro a la Edad Media. La experiencia acumulada
permite reflexionar sobre el proceso investigador realizado y las nuevas perspectivas que se plantean a
causa de la renovación metodológica.
During the last 15 years, two cycles of research have been carried out to study the rural/peasant
communities of a specific sector of the Spanish Northern Plateau. The first one was focused on
their origin and initial expansion during recent Prehistoric times. The second one addressed their
development under the state systems that have succeeded each other from the Iron Age to the Middle
Ages. The acquired experience allows us to reflect on the research process carried out and the new
perspectives that have arisen as a result of the methodological renewal.
